Join 350PDX and EcoFaith Recovery's Beyond Fossil Fuels Initiative for a telecast viewing and discussion of what we can do in Portland to turn fossil fuels off and renewable energy on.

On September 10th, global movement leaders are gathering in New York to unveil the plan for turning off the power of the fossil fuel industry, and turning on the renewable energy that will empower our communities.

Off and On: The Climate Movement and the Road Through Paris Featuring:

  • Bill McKibben - author and educator
  • Naomi Klein - author of This Changes Everything, Shock Doctrine, No Logo.
  • Reverend Yearwood - Executive Director of the Hip-Hop Caucus
  • Cynthia Ong - founder of LEAP - Borneo
  • Eddie Bautista - New York Environmental Justice Alliance
  • Tomas Insua - founder of Global Catholic Climate Movement - Argentina
  • Thilmeeza Hussain - founder Voice of Women - Maldives
  • Juan Flores - Center for Race, Poverty & the Environment - California
  • Antonique Smith - Grammy-nominated singer and Broadway actress

This one night only meeting of climate movement leaders comes at a historic moment, just months ahead of global climate talks in Paris.

6pm: Join 350PDX and EcoFaith Recovery's Beyond Fossil Fuels Initiative for a brown bag dinner and snack-luck (bring your own dinner and snacks to share).

6:30pm: Welcome and introductions, singing, relationship building

7pm: Telecast viewing and discussion of what’s next
