On Wednesday July 13th, join 350PDX and friends for a gathering outside City Hall to show our support for strong, binding climate policy. 350PDX climate champions will be speaking at City Council at 9:30am to advocate for bold implementation of the Fossil Fuel Policy and Climate Action Plan.
In November of 2015, the City of Portland took the first step to ban new fossil fuel terminals by passing the Fossil Fuel Policy Resolution. Now, city planners are starting the process of making that resolution law. However, the first draft of code changes is out, but does not nearly go far enough to protect our communities from fossil fuels and climate diasters.
We've taken one strong step, but we need to keep the pressure on to show that we are dedicated to bold climate action and keeping the fossil fuel industry out of Portland. It takes the public's voice to make strong strides in policy so be present and have your voice be heard!
