With our planet and economies in crisis, our political process in chaos, and our cultural story in transition, many people feel hopeless, cynical, or despairing.
Active Hope is an empowering creative stance for meeting these challenges. This powerful workshop, based on the work of eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, explores new ways in which we can face these issues, find inspiration, and embody our gifts for the healing of our world. Through the use of deep dialogue, empathy, group ritual, music, and our own wild imaginings, we will explore together the ground of gratitude, honor our pain for the world, and deepen our sense of interconnectedness and empowerment as we face, together, the peril and beauty of our changing world.
This workshop is offered by Barbara Ford, an activist, therapist, facilitator, singer, and artist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals, faith groups, activists, intentional communities, non-profits, and schools. She is presently the coordinator for the 350PDX Arts and Events team. More info about Barbara is at www.barbaraford.net
We recommend a $20-$40 donation per person for the workshop, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds because we want everyone to be able to benefit from this supportive workshop. All proceeds will go to support the work of 350PDX. You will receive a link to donate in an email when you register, or you can donate at the door.
